Cleave — Support

Wherever you pick in the save dialog. If you set a default folder in Settings → Save destination, Cleave writes there directly. Choose any folder in Files — iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, or a folder exposed by another app like Calibre Companion, KOReader, or Yomu.

No. Cleave always writes a new EPUB with your changes; the original is untouched unless you overwrite it by saving to the same path with the same filename.

iOS 26 blocks share extensions from launching their host app. Tap the share-sheet confirmation, then tap the Cleave icon on your home screen — Cleave will pick up the file automatically when it opens.

Select all the EPUBs in Files, share to Cleave. Cleave processes them as a batch with a "Book X of N" counter. Skip, edit, and save each one individually.

Open Cleave → Settings → Diagnostics → Delete all Inbox files.

Yes. In the editor's Cover section, tap Photos to pick any image from your library. Cleave re-encodes it as JPEG at full resolution.

Mostly. Editing, auto-cleaning, watermark-page stripping, and saving all work offline. Cover enrichment and web metadata lookup need a network connection; if you're offline, those sections just show empty results — no errors.

Optional. If you provide one in Settings → Cover sources → Google Books, Cleave uses Google Books as a third metadata/cover source in addition to Apple Books and Open Library. A key is free from console.cloud.google.com (enable the Books API, create a key, paste it in).
